webmaster The predicted thunderstorms did not materialise and a fine day was enjoyed by all, none more so that the clear winner, Garry Elwell, who was eight points clear of Barry Hamblett and Bob Crump. Those two also shared the minor podium places last month albeit in the opposite direction.
Another great turnout for the Committee Shield with sunshine on offer once again. An enjoyable test of golf as always at Kiddy with the scores reflective of that with only one player bettering their handicap.
That, of course, was our winner, Bob Crump, who finished two clear of the chasing pair of Martin Grange and Barry Hamblett who could only be separated by countback.
A tremendous turn out for the Captain’s Cup & Charity Dy with sunshine also provided. The course was in excellent condition and was a test as you can see in the individual scores.
Commiserations to Kelvin Warren who was pipped on the back nine to a very good score of 37 pts and a back nine of 20 pts. The very impressive winner of the Captain’s Cup was Lee Gavin, another new member who has gone straight on to the podium.
44 players in 11 teams competed for the Charity Day team even with the overall winning team consisting of Barry Hamblett, Lee Gavin, Gareth Humphries and Les Sinton with a total of 98 points.
Another warm and sunny day and another good turnout. A good course with tricky greens and it was Jonny Drury who came out on top, a point clear of Tay Kyte. Barry Hamblett edged out a gaggle of players on 31 points to claim the final podium position on countback.
For once, it was a sunny day, and an enjoyable round of golf with some very close scoring. John West came out on top with Sharon Cartwright claiming second place on countback. Kelvin Warren completed the podium positions.
We were forecast a wet day but the weather gods provided a rain-free day on an very enjoyable course that has held up well to this year’s horrendous conditions. Dennis Pilcher came out on top with 35 points, a couple clear of Anthony Beards. Colin Stephens nicked the final podium spot on countback.
