Game 2 of 2025 was won by Marcel Bennett, two points clear of three golfers who had to rely on countback to determine the minor podium positions. Garry took second place to follow up from his victory in Game 1.
Congratulations to Garry Elwell who started the new year with a one point victory over Sharon Cartwright with last year’s POTY Jonny Drury completing the podium.
Congratulations to Phil Weaver who triumphed in the final individual game of the season with a remarkable 45 points, having won the pink shirt the previous month, with 40 points needed to make the top four. Steve Price came in second with Paul Harris squeezing onto the podium on countback. Eight players in total scored better than their handicap.
The predicted thunderstorms did not materialise and a fine day was enjoyed by all, none more so that the clear winner, Garry Elwell, who was eight points clear of Barry Hamblett and Bob Crump. Those two also shared the minor podium places last month albeit in the opposite direction.
Another great turnout for the Committee Shield with sunshine on offer once again. An enjoyable test of golf as always at Kiddy with the scores reflective of that with only one player bettering their handicap.
That, of course, was our winner, Bob Crump, who finished two clear of the chasing pair of Martin Grange and Barry Hamblett who could only be separated by countback.
